In my mind, it contradicts what most of us considered to be the children of George Dailey. Especially when it comes to Jeremiah Dailey b. 1817. He is not listed as a son or heir of George Daily. Therefore, I am revising my earlier posting of children. Please read and arrive at your own conclusions: Minutes of the Probate Court of Blount County, for the Sept term commencing Sept. 11th 1876. Sept 23, 1876 "And now on this day comes George J. Daily the adms. of the estate of George Daily, decd. And presents to the court in writing and under oath his petition, praying for an order to sell the lands hereinafter described for the purpose of division among the heirs, viz: North 1/2 of SE 1/4 and South 1/2 of NE 1/4 of Sec. 4 in T 12 of Range 1 East, North 1/2 of North East 1/4 and west 1/2 of NE 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 24 in T 12 Range 1 West. Alleging that the said lands cannot be equitable divided among the heirs and distributed without a sale thereof. And the said petitioner further representing that the names, residences, ages and conditions of the heirs and distributees of said desceased are as follows, viz; Lucinda Daily, widow of decedent resides in Blount County, John Daily son of decedent of full age resides in the state of Arkansas, Loving Daily, son of decendent over twenty one years of age, resides in Tennessee, Arra, daughter of dec'd, intermarried with Robert Blackwood, over twenty-one years old and resides in Walker Co, Ala. Ara intermarried with _ Barnes, whose Christian name is to petitioner unknown, both of full age who resides in the state of Texas, Effa, intermarried with Napoleon B. Posey, both of full age and reside in Walker County, Ala, Essa, intermarried with Arthur H. Posey and resides in the state of Arkansas, Aytcha, intermarried and residing with James Blackwood, both of full age and resides in Blount Co, Al, Emily, intermarried and residing in Blount County, with Champion Cornelius who is of full age, George J. Daily, petitioner, Greenberry H. Dailey, of full age resides in Blount County and Francis A. Daily of full age resides in Sanford County, Ala, all of sound mind. And the court having examined said petition, it is ordered that the same be filed, and that the 3rd day of Nov 18876, be set as the day for hearing said petition, and that citations be issued and duly served at least ten days before said day of hearing and the said Arra and James Blackwood, Lucinda Daily, Effa and Napoleon B. Posey, Aythcha and Robert Blackwood, Emily and Champ Cornelius, Greenberry H. Daily and Francis A. Daily, citing them to be and appear before this court on said day to show cause if any why the prayor of said petition should not be granted. And it is further ordered that John Daily, Loving Daily, Ara Barnes and _ Barnes, Arthur H and Essa Posey heirs and distributees, residing out of state have notice of this application and the day above set for hearing be given by publication for three successive weeks in the Southern ? a newspaper published in said county". Got some questions for you. 1. How did you come up with George Daily's birthplace as S.C.? Four Federal Census Reports I have show N.C. 2. Is there any evidence/proof that Joe Alan Daily was George Daily's father? 3. Has Joe Alan Daily been found in any records in the U.S.? If so....where? Joyce McCool (we've corresponded before) Kansas City ???? Jane Daly-King <[email protected]@pei.sympatico.ca> Friday, June 25, 1999 at 20:29:27 (PDT) Am interested in hearing from Daly's with Prince Edward Island, Canada connections especially those from Michigan and British Columbia or anyone from Cork County who has connections to Daniel Daly, the priest who left for American in about 1799. He was the son of Jeremiah I believe. They were originally wool-combers. Daniel was a priest who left the priesthood and married a Loyalist girl named Bessie Williams and they moved to Jordan River, Nova Scotia, Canada. |
