Note: Spouse 1: Rector, Spencer Spouse 2: Tiffin, Mary Marriage Date: 3 Oct 1785 Marriage Location: Virginia Fauquier County Spouse 1: Rector, Spencer Spouse 2: Tiffin, Mary Marriage Date: 03 Oct 1785 Marriage Location: VirginiaFauquier County Subj: [GERMANNA] Rector in Missouri Date: 1/21/02 11:00:03 PM Eastern Standard Time From: [email protected] Reply-to: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]I'm not certain anyone will benefit from this but I thought I would share it with the group. I am a descendant of the Rectors thru John Jacob>Henry>Spencer. Spencer married Mary Tiffin in 1785 and left her a widow in 1793. Mary then took her children to Ohio. Her grandson, Spencer, had 9 children. Their second son, John Pancake Rector (his mother's maiden name was Susan Pancake) married Nancy Henson in 1857. In 1860 he and his little family were in Missouri, for some reason unknown to me. He was farming, according to the census. When the Civil War broke out he went back to Pickaway Co., Ohio and enlisted in the Union Army. He died in Kentucky in 1862. If anyone know why he moved to Missouri--apparently away from family and friends--I would like to know.
