a. Note:   Andrew moved to Sequatchie Valley and married Elizabeth Looney. They lived near the present Powell's Crossroads (Whitwell area). IN the fall of 1838 or 39 they moved to the upper end of Hamilton County. Andrew operated a ferry at Opossum Creek. They liced at the terminus of the present McCallie Ferry Road on land owned by Andrew's half brother, Col. Thomas Mccallie. This land was part of the Eagleton Grant from North Carolina . When Col McCallie lost this land in a lawsuit Andrew and his family moved across the river (Tenn) (South Side-5 miles south of the Hiwassee River.
