Note: Gloria Clover, 69, of Arkansas City died Sunday (November 8, 2009) at home. Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday (November 14, 2009) at Bible Christian Church, 2411 North Eighth St. Arkansas City, KS. She was born Sept. 19, 1940 at Wagoner, Oklahoma to George W. and Elizabeth (House) Hardy. She attended high school at Okay, Oklahoma and graduated from Arkansas City Junior College, Emporia, Kansas Teacher'' College, Wichita State University, and Covington Theological Seminary. She married Jacob (Jake) Clover on January 1, 1962 at Sedan, Kansas. She taught in USD 470 elementary schools for 27 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of Bible Christian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kansas Retired School Personnel Association, Ladies Gourmet Pinochle Club, Couples Gourmet Pinochle Club and TOPS#KS151. Survivors include her husband Jacob (Jake), daughter Dayna and husband Jerry Gibson of Ponca City and daughter Danice and husband Chet Sweet of Arkansas City; grandchildren Christine Beaty, Dale Beaty, and Holly Beaty, all of Arkansas City; great- grandchildren Gabriel and Noah Harper of Arkansas City; brother George Hardy and wife Glenda of Bethany, Okla.; sisters Jeanie Stewart and husband Major of Seymour, Texas; Gerry Randall and husband Bruce of Tulsa; Dorothy Ashlock and Hazel Joice of Wagoner and Evelyn Long of Arkansas City; sister-in-law Frieda Kahle and husband Gary of Arkansas City, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Wava Douglas and Gladys Trotter and brother Carl Hardy.
