  Funeral services for Hazel E. Joice, 89, long-time Wagoner resident, were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21 at the Mallet Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with Mr. Terry Smalling and Mr. Hershel Dyer officiating.
  Hazel E. (Hardy) Joice was born June 18, 1921 in Duncan to her parents, George and Elizabeth (House) Hardy.
  Hazel was very athletic as she was growing up; she played basketball and was an avid and accomplished golfer, and she enjoyed fishing as well.
  On March 2, 1940 she was married to James Edwin Joice, a union lasting 67 years until his death in 2007.
  For some time she worked as a bookkeeper at the Chilocco Indian School.
  Known as an excellent seamstress and cook. Hazel was a wonderful homemaker for her family.
  Hazel passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 17, at the Wagoner Care Center.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; her brother, James Hardy, and three sisters, Wava Douglas, Gladys Trotter and Gloria Clover.
  She is survived by her daughter, Delorus Pinegar, and her husband, Frank, of Mineola, Texas; a granddaughter, Deedra Elizabeth Roberts; a grandson, Anthony Roberts; a great-grandson, Jackson Roberts; four sisters, Dorothy Ashlock of Wagoner, Imogene Stewart, of Texas, Gerry Randall, of Tulsa, and Evelyn Long, of Oklahoma City; a brother, George Hardy, of Bethany; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
  Pallbearers were Mike DeVault, Dick Randall, Brad Randall and Stan Ashlock.
  Honorary pallbearers were Wes Shearrer, Gary Ashlock, Bruce Randall and Charles Joice.
