  � Obituary Syracuse Herald-Journal newspaper dated Monday, August 14, 1961: Mrs. Mary Nell Dickerman Kane, 44, of 11 Sunset Terr., Baldwinsville, prominent in community affairs and in golfing circles, died early today in Crouse-Irving Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Donald E. Kane Sr., a former executive director of Seneca Federal Savings & Loan Association. Mrs. Kane was a former resident of Auburn, where she was active in civic and church affairs, as well in golfing circles. A graduate of Auburn High School, she attended Smith College. Mrs. Kane was active in the Community Players Choral Group and Owasco Yacht Club. Her first husband, Phillip A. Lower, died in November, 1949. Mrs. Kane was president of the Baldwinsville Community Council for ten years and retired last January because of ill health. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville and participated in organizing women�s and young people�s activities for the church. Mrs. kane was also active in Community Chest work and served as area chairman for the United Fund. She was director of transportation for the Baldwinsville group for the American Cancer Society. An outstanding athlete, she was a champion of the Seneca Golf Club and past president of the Golf Association. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Briggs Lower, a son, David Allen Lower: a brother Allen B. Dickerman of Onondaga Hill, her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Allen of Auburn; a stepson, Donald E. Kane, Jr., of Warwick, Va, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First presbyterian Church, Baldwinsville, the Rev. William Bell officiating. Friends may call at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 17 Grove St., Baldwinsville, tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
