He enjoyed drinking and discussions with good company. He joined the Wheeler Rifles and the BPO Elks, Auburn Lodge. � obituary Funeral Rites Wednesday for Martin J. Lower Former Traffic Manager for Harvester Co. Had been in Insurance Field in Later Years Funeral services for MartinJ. Lower, 78, retired traffic manager of the International Harvester Company in this city and for many years active in business and civic affairs, will be held at 9:45 Wednesday morning at the Langham Funeral Home, 91 East Genesee Street, and at 10 o�clock in St. Alphonsus Church. Friends have been invited to call at the funeral home from 4 to 5 and 7 to 9, Tuesday. Mr. Lower died on Sunday, February 22, in Mercy Hospital. He was born in Auburn and had continued to reside in this city. In 1930 he retired from the Harvester Company and entered the insurance business in his home city. He had been prominent in Auburn many years. Mr. Lower was a member of Auburn Lodge, B.P.O. Elks, and was a member of the old Wheeler Rifles many years ago. Surviving Mr. Lower are a daughter, Miss Mildred Lower of Lake Placid; two sons, Martin E. Lower of Baldwinsville and Philip A. Lower of this city; a sister Mrs. James B. Quick, and a brother, Frederick Lower, both of Auburn; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
