a. Note:   se farm from 1799 or 1800 to 1804. The young couple had three children here, all were christened at Barwick in Elmet. Sometime in 1804 the family moved to another farm in the Barwick in Elmet area. Around 1807 the family moved to the Melbourne -Thornton area (Wobut or Walbut) of Yorkshire. While here they had five children, all christened at the Thornton on Spalding Moor Church. About 1816 the family moved to Melbourne, here they had two children, also christened at Thornton on Spalding Moor. In 1820 or 21 the family moved to the South Newbald area of Yorkshire and had their last child in 1822. William emigrated from England in 1834 at the age of 67 with wife Ann, daughters Ann, Ruth, and Elleanor, and son John and his family. William and his wife Ann settled in the White Pigeon area of Michigan, possibly working on the John Coats farm.
