a. Note:   S.about 1830 at the age of 30 with his daughters Sarah & Ellen (or Helen) and son William. Thomas settled for a short time in Michigan, then moved to La Grange Co. Indiana.' Old Tommy' wore knee breeches and long stockings. He brought with him from his temporary home in Michigan two small sashes of four panes each to be used in his log cabin. In 1833 Thomas married Mary Melville, and had many more children. Thomas built the first frame house on 'English Prairie', a very stately homestead in Greenfield township, LaGrange Co. Indiana.
Note:   Thomas, having lost his first wife Eleanor Jewitson , emigrated to the U.
