JAS. WARNOCK An old and Respected Resident of Ottawa dies in Richmond, Virginia aftera short illness. Word reached Ottawa yesterday morning, of the death in Richmond,Virginia, of Mr. James Warnock, of this city. The late Mr. Warnock leftfor the south the beginning of December and up to a few weeks ago wasenjoying the best of good health. Whe n visited by his sons, about 10days ago, he seemed in a fair way to recovery. Mr. James Warnock, son:Mr. J.P. Dunne, son-in-law and his wife were with the deceased gentlemanwhen he died. The deceased was a native of County Fermanagh, Ireland an dcame to Canada with his parents when quite a child. He spent his youth inthe township of Ross and later on, went to Montreal in 1851. He came toOttawa and laid the foundation of what has since become one of thelargest and most successful bake ry businesses in the city. He was, atthe time of his death, and had been for a great number of years, a valuedmember of the board of the Collegiate Institute. He was a regularattendant at St. Josephs Church and an active member of St. Vincen t dePaul Society. As a man of the most upright and sterling character,strictly temperate and of kindly and genial disposition, the late Mr.Warnock will be sincerely mourned by his many friends, of all creeds andnationalities. He leaves, beside s his wife, three sons, Alexander, JamesG. and Joseph and two daughters, Mrs. John Gorman and Mrs. J.P.
