McGuire & Co." 'Book of Remembrance"-friends, floral tributes, press notices re: the funeral of John Wilbur Dale. This book was passed down to me from my uncle, Alan Dale. Press Notices: "Former County Guard John W. Dale, Passes" "A resident of Westboro for the past 32 years and a guard at the Carleton jail for 21 years until his retirement last fall, John Wilber Dale, 25 Brandon street, died at a local hospital Thursday. Born and educated in Shawville, Que., he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Dale. He was married in Ottawa in 1914 to the former Mary Prendergast who survives. He was a member of the Westboro United Church. Surviving besides his wife, are four sons, Armand, William, Allen and Donald, all of Westboro; one daughter, Frances, at home; one brother Fred, and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Dale, both of Ottawa. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the parlors of the Tubman Funeral Home, 403 Richmond Road. The service will be conducted by the Rev. A.P. Menzies. Interment will be in Merivale cemetery."
