  "DALE, Mary-In hospital on Thursday, Feb. 21, 1974, Mary Prendergast, aged 94, of 375 Lanark Ave., widow of Wilbur John Dale; dear mother of Armand, of Carleton Place; Bill, of Stittsville; Allen, of Ottawa; Donald, of Oakville; Frances (Mrs. Bob Wilkins); adopted mother of Paul Patrick, of Ottawa; also survived by 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Resting at the Tubman Funeral Home, 403 Richmond Rd. at Roosevelt where service and committal will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 10 a.m.". **Lynn's notes-The day of my grandmother's funeral (Sat. Feb. 22), we experienced one of the worst snowstorms I can remember. The highway from Stittsville into Ottawa was closed due to the weather conditions. We owned a four-wheel drive truck and Ted offered to drive Dad into Ottawa by way of the back roads. Dad declined the offer saying that it would be just too dangerous to take the chance. Sadly, our family missed my grandmother's funeral.
