Notes
a. Note:   , 1983). Ray was one of the first to developresidential subdivisions in the town of Stittsville. Many homes builthere in the 1950s and 60s were buil t by Hobin Homes. Ray was also awell-known coin collector, attending many coin conventions in both Canadaand the United States. His real passion was horses. He was the proudowner of many fine Standardbred (harness- racing) horses. Som e of myfavourite memories were of family get-togethers during racing nights atRideau Carleton Raceway. After a family dinner in the clubhouse, we wouldall gather, to bet on and watch the evenings races. My Uncles boomingvoice could be hear d throughout the building as he noisily urged hishorses on to victory! He would usually have at least one winner beforethe night was out. We would race down to the winners circle to have ourpictures taken with the horse and driver. Many pictur es in our familyalbums include a horse!!
