Note: REF: From the Shawville Equity edition dated January 10, 1907 (courtesy of Barbara Anderson) "The late Mrs. Caldwell" "A short notice in these columns last week announced the death of Mrs. Caldwell, relict of the late William Caldwell of the 4th range Clarendon, the sad event having taken place at the residence of her daughter, Martha (Mrs. A. G. Lemoyne) in Montreal on Monday morning, December 31st-the anniversary of her *73rd birthday. Although she had been in declining health for several months, Mrs. Caldwell's real illness only dates back a few weeks when she contracted a severe cold. While visiting her son George's in Ottawa, she passed through the first critical stage of this illness, and was thought to be fairly on the way to recovery. She then went to Montreal, where shortly afterwards the second attack, which was destined to terminate fatally, came on. She was fully reconciled for the end when it came, and her transition from time to eternity was marked by the 'sweet peace' which is the Christian's passport to the realms of endless bliss. The late Mrs. Caldwell, was a lady of many endearing qualities of heart and mind-a faithful wife, a loving and affectionate mother-a true, warm-hearted friend and neighbor. Loved and esteemed by all who knew her, her departure will be mourned by many acquaintances as sincerely as if their own personal ties of kinship had been severed. The deceased was a daughter of the late John Young, and was born in Clarendon in a house which stands a short distance west of the site of the old Ebenezer church, and was in its day one of the best houses....(rest cut off)."
