 Dear sister I will now try and answer your long looked for but welcome letter which I received last Sunday. was sorry to hear Steve was haveing such bad time with his hand and glad to hear that you were all well. we are all well here with the exceptions of bad colds. hope this will find you all well. we are haveing some prety cold weather here. it jas been snowing and sleeting all day. Mama and Grace were here tuesday they were all well. Arty and Charlie are cuting wood and Eliza is cooking for them. Norma when is Papa coming home? or does he intend to come. why does he not ans. my letter. or does he not think it worth answering? well Norma you must have your hands full to take care of so many little ones. Yes. Noah and I are agoingto live in with his father and family this year. well we enjoyed our selves very well Christmas. I got all the presents this and nobody else here did not get any thing hardly. Noah gave me a new dress a cloak and a new hat an album and a new stove, a pars of new shoes and Mama [Caroline (Putnam) Mayer] gave me six yards of lace. Mrs Harris [Matilda (Brettell] gave me 3 yards of lace and Mrs Key sent me a nice milk pitcher. how did you enjoy Christmas down there and what did you get--I heare from cousin Allie once in a while but not very often and cousin Minnie never writes to me. Cousin Allie was not married the last time I heard from her. Eliza's baby can not stand a lone yet. Mr. Harris has set 3 old hens and one of them has little chickens. well as I can think of no news of interest I will close hopeing to hear from you soon I remain as ever your sister Sadie Harris. to Norma Denison kiss all the litte ones for me. write soon."
