He moved to Denton, TX and then to Willow, OK. He became a citizen at the age of 21 and got married in 1892. From the Denton Record & Chronicle, Oct 21, 1912: ...aged about 83 years, died at his home on south Myrtle St. Sunday afternoon after an illness of several years due to a stroke of paralysis suffered several years ago. Mr. Harris was a native of England where he married Matilda Brettell at Birmingham when a young man, and they came to America years later, coming to Denton County in 1881, thirty-one years ago. Mrs. Harris died seven years ago in Denton. Mr. Harris is survived by the following children: Noah of Willow, OK., John, Ed and George. Mrs W H Rose and Robert Harris of Denton, Mrs. Annie Wears of Florida.
