DATE 30 Nov 2000. @Obit in Scrapbook area Chillicothe Tribune Sept 3, 1963 Josh Walker Dies at Age of 92 For More Than 40 Years , He Was a Member of the City;s Police Force. Joshua Andrew (Josh) Walker, 92 , lifetime resident of LivingstonCounty, died Sunday mornin g at a Chillicothe nursing home, where he hadbeen a patient for several years. Mr. Walker for more that 40 years was on the Chillicothe police force.After retirement fro m the active force, he was often called upon toserve on special occasions when additional pol ice officers were needed.He served as assistant police chief under the late Maurice Dorney a ndalso as deputy sheriff under the late William Nothnagel. The family home for many years was located at 427 Cherry street, MrWalker took great pride i n his home and had won several awards from thelocal garden club. A son of John Walker and Caroline (Dawkins) Walker , he was born on Nov.1, 1871 , in Sampse l township. He was a member of the Baptist church. Mr Walker leaves a daughter Mrs. Maude M. Hahn, 616 W. 39th Terrace,Kansas City; three granda ughters , Mrs Mary Jane Miller, ShawneeMission, KS. ; Mrs Marjorie (Rickard) Fuqua of Arizo na, Mrs Patricia(Ethridge ) Price of Hawaii, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Jane Walker, on Aug. 15,1951; a daughter, Blanch e Ethridge in June 1932 and nine brothers andsisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at thechapel of the Gordon Hom e For Funerals. Burial will be in Edgewoodcemetery.
