Note: Delbert's father died when he was 21. This left him the responsibility of the farm as the other boys were younger. When WW I broke out his cousins were enlisting in the Army and Delbert wanted to join up also. A neighbor spent one afternoon talking Delbert out of joining the Army and to stay home and farm so the family could keep the farm and continue on living toghether. His father was a beliver in education and that was shown as Delbert, Cleo and Roscoe graduated from Cambells Business College in Holton. Delbert was initiated in the Soldier lodge 1-9-1919. He was the District Deputy Grand Manster in 1963. He received his 50 year membership.
