"Addie's mother, Eliza Ann, was previously married to Jacob, America's father. So while America and Addie were not blood related, their parents certainly had some history. America and Addie's daughter, Eliza Ann, was my favorite aunt when I was growing up. Oh, the correct spelling is Yandell.
Eliza's husband, John Anderson Yandell, died in 1880 and left her with 6 children to raise. Addie May, the oldest was 18 and the oldest son was 16. I'd like to learn how Eliza managed to raise the others and where they lived. I know she lived with my grandfather, Fred, after he married in 1900, but I'm wondering about where she lived, etc. for the 20 years between John's death and Fred's marriage. Eliza is buried in New Liberty Cemetery in Holt County." -from Linda Yandell Sauer
