Note: Served in the Army (drafted) from 23 Sep 1942, Basic Training at Fort Cluster, Michigan October 7, 1942. He earned 1 Service Stripe, 1 Overseas Service Bar, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon W/3 Bronze Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, World War 11 Victory Medal. Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantry Badge MM Rifle, (Combat badge got hime $10. more a month). WHen drafted got $30.00 a month. At discharge got $42.00 a month. Served in Northern France, in Germany (Rhineland), Central Europe duing World War 11. He was discharged 23 NOV. 1945, Served 3 years, one month and 28 days. PFC CO "D", 414th Infantry. Spent over 9 months in College, after discharge, studying to be an engineer (till calculus class). He had a 36 Olds coupe, that he wrecked with he was 20 years old, after hiring in at Fisher Body, in 1940 November, accident in June. July 4th accident cast on the broken (right leg still has a bump), he went home in an ambulance. He worked at and retired from Fisher Body, in Lansing, MI, where they made the Oldsmobile bodies prior to going to the Oldsmobile plant where they added The engine and front end. Fisher Body across the country made all the GM bodies. He married Ethel first, then Irene. He was in the Army during WWII, and spent time in Germany. INGHAM Co.
