a. Note:   Robert graduated in 1943. He had been working for a Sohio Gas Station and was drafted into WWII on 2/8/1943, was transferred to Europe on 5/13/1944, and ended his service on 1/1/1946. His first furlough was at Austin, Texas. He was also located at Shreveport, Louisiana; Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and was discharged from Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania. He had met his future wife, JULIA MARIA ANGIOCCHI, on a blind date on August 24, 1943, and corresponded with her during the war. When he came back, they were married on 6/7/1946.
  Marriage license shows: Robert A. Hine and Julia M. Angiocchi applied to be married on May 20, 1946. Robert was 21 years old on Dec. 24, 1946, living at 1238 Hayden, born in East Cleveland, a service station attendant, son of Bert Hine and Grace Blair. Julia was 22 years old, living at 7142 Bletch Court, born in Cleveland, a typist, daughter of Iacopo Angiocchi and Maryanna Fontana. They were married on June 8, 1946 by Robert F. Longano, Justice of the Peace at 5869 Brecksville Rd., Independence, Ohio.
  Robert and Julia lived with Robert's mother Grace and his Aunt Belle. He then became a police officer for the Village of Cuyahoga Hts., where they made their residence at 7137 Bletch Court.
  Robert earned various medals in his military service in World War II. We were able to have these medals replaced. They were lost when Robert gave them to his son, Mark, to play with when Mark was a child. See the history that I wrote about Robert Hine's military service, which included his letters that he wrote to his wife-to-be, Julia Angiocchi, as well as much historical information about the 83rd Thunderbolt Division. Also see the book, "Thunderbolt Across Europe" also in our possession.
  June 1964 Mayor William R. Gerdon appointed three new policemen and two new firemen to bring the departments up to strength. The firemen named were Victor Duber and Ronald Henry. The policemen are Lawrence Mack, Robert Hine and Franklin Hess Jr. All will serve a six-month probationary period.
  Obit States: Robert A. Hine, of Medina, passed away Thursday, 5/14/1992, father of Roberta Dobbins, Mark and Paul Hine, grandfather of two. Memorial service Saturday, May 16 at the Waite & Son Memorial Home, 10:30 a.m. where family will receive friends one half hour prior to service.
  Death certificate shows: Robert Austin Hine died on May 14, 1992 at Medina General Hospital. He was born Dec. 24, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio, age 67, social security number 275-20-3430. He was in the armed forces, married to Julia M. Hine, a police officer for Cuyahoga Heights. His usual residence was 841 Ryan Road, Medina. His parents were Bert Hine and Grace Blair. The informant was Roberta Dobbins, 4352 Grafton Road, Brunswick, OH 44212. He was cremated and buried on May 16, 1992 at Spring Grove Cemetery, Medina, Ohio. The doctor was Anand Khandelwal and he died of COPD and CHF.
