In some published genealogies, she is listed as Janet, which may have been a nickname or a misspelling of her middle name, Jeanette.
She is buried in Albany, Marion County, OR next to her husband in the Jason Lee Mission Cemetary.
She died at the residence of her son, Joseph Benjamin Cook, in Cottage Grove, OR. After her death, a trunk of her possessions was found. In it were brightly colored silk dresses, lingerie, feather boas and other items. The interesting thing was that as a Free Methodist in that era, she could not have worn any of those items. She always dressed in a very plain manner (as did all Free Methodist women). The family could not figure out when or where she came by those items (they were NOT styled from before the date of her marriage to John Dempster Cook).
