Notes
a. Continued:   Jane was graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1945. She reared four children and at her death had 17 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was the loving wife of George who was an international corporate executive. She was the founding editor and publisher of Lincoln County Tennessee Pioneers (1970-1997). Between 1974 and 1996, she edited a weekly historical and genealogical column for the Elk Valley Times and Observer called "Spanning the Years." In 1986 she was named Texas State Health Care Association Volunteer of the Year for her years of work at a local nursing home. She was also devoted to her Bible studies. In addition to genealogy, she enjoyed playing bridge. She loved to dance and attended at least 37 "Soldier Dances" in 1941 & 1942. While living in Brazil she would join the street bands of Rio de Janeiro as they practiced before Carnival. Jane also had a keen sense of humor and was published in the Reader's Digest and sold gags to the comedienne Phyllis Diller. Her favorite ancestor was Mayzie Dance. She was loved by all that knew her.
b. Note:   8:30 AM, at home, on Molino Pike; 9 lbs, 20 inches.
c. Note:   She died about 5:30 AM. Fitting it was Easter because of her religious beliefs and because her grandmother, the genealogically elusive Nancy Jane Hunter Smith, died Easter 1916.
d. Note:   Burial was immediately after the funeral. The hearse was purple, the minister lead the procession in a yellow 1966 Mustang. One striking memory was that all traffic stopped, in place, as the procession passed (on both sides of busy roads).
e. Note:   LCT Bibles 4:137 (Waller Family Bible): "This certifies that George Frank John Waller and Jane Helen Warren were united in Holy Matrimony on the 30th day of June in the year of our Lord 1945 at Fayetteville, Tenn. by Dr. B.G. Pressley. Witness: R.P. Smith and Lillian Stover."
