Note: Eddyville Tribune Thursday April 1, 1971 Mrs. Helena Gertrude Jordan, 68, died suddenly at her home, Rt. 1, Eddyville, at 11:50 a.m. Sunday. She was born Feb.10, 1903 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Oscar A. and Mary Ellen Johnson, Larson. On Feb. 14, 1923 she united in marriage to Alva Jordan of Ottumwa. She had spent all of her married life in the Eddyville community, and was a member of the Lutheran Church of Munterville. She is survived by her husband, Alva Jordan and six Children, Mrs. George( Ethel Helen) Majavac, North English; Mrs. Cecil ( Esther)Lennox, Douds; Mrs. Frank ( Irene) Moore, Phoenix, Ariz; Russell Jordan, Edgington, ILL; Richard Jordan, La Palma, Calif.; Ronald Jordan, Dysart, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers Oliver Larson of New Iberia, La; Kenneth Larson of Kalona, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Durward (Edith) Randels of New Sharon and Mrs. August ( Winnie) Catour of Kalona, Ill.; She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson. Services were held Wednesday afternoon March 31 at 2:00 p.m. in the Eddyville Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment was in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Eddyville Coop Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
