a. Note:   Asa, although listed as Acy in the 1880 Montineau County Census, was living with his sister Martha and brother-in-law Absolom Newkirk in the Willow Fork township. He and Fannie had an infant child that died May 18, 1881 while they were living in Montineau County, Missouri. This child is buried at Moreau Cemetery in Montineau County. Asa was listed as a farmer in the 1887 Business Directory for Montineau County. His death certificate also lists him as a retired farmer. He shows up in
 Morgan County in 1900 Census. He died Jan. 4, 1926 from phlebitis, which is tightening of the veins in the leg. Phlebitis can be caused by an injury or an infection and can cause blood clots. It appears from the death certificate that Asa's
 was related to an infection in his prostrate gland. He had surgery on Dec. 28, 1925 to operate on an enlarge prostrate gland. He died at 6 a.m Jan. 4, 1926 and he is buried at the Versailles Cemetery.
