  William appears on the 1836 Hickman Co., Tenn. tax list and the 1856-57 Obion Co., Tenn. agricultural survey.
  Tennessee land grant no. 7720 was awarded to William Autrie 1 May 1849 and registered 4 June 1855 in Obion Co., Tn. for 200 acres Range 7, Sections 8 and 9 on the south fork of Reelfoot River. This was the result of an Act of the General Assembly passed 2 Nov. 1847.
  Some researchers list William's middle initial as W.
 I believe this is the result of a transcription error from the family bible.
 Am confident that his middle initial was H.
  The obituary of his daughter, Margaret Autry Bigley, states that the family moved to "Albine" county Tennessee in 1843; to Missouri in 1859 and to Nebraska in 1869.
  There is a reference, at the Obion Co. website,to a William Aldry being a charter member of Mason Hall in Obion Co.
 There may well have been a William Aldry in the county at that time, but David Halliburton, MG was involved in the establishment of Mason Hall and he was a friend of the Autry family.
