Note: PROOF: ----- On 1810 Duplin NC census, Hardy II had 2 sons under 10 years old. -----By 1820 Perry County Miss. Fed census, Hardy II had 2 sons, 1 son 10-16 yrs (this should be Hardy III who was 15 yrs old, and 1 son 16-26 which could be James who was 19 yrs old). Those were the only two male children listed. -----Then in 1827 and 1829 Tax Rolls for Perry Co, MS it has Hardy II, Hardy III, JAMES and Jacob (who I believe is cousin to Hardy II), and NO OTHER Parkers. ----- In 1830 Hardy II has 1 son 20-30, which should be Hardy III, and James is now in Jones Co. age 20-30, married with 1 female child. If he was the son of John Parker Sr., why would he have been in Perry Co with cousins in his younger years, then moving to be in Jones Co with a father. It makes sense that he grew up in Perry Co with Hardy as his father, then moved later to Jones Co, to marry and live by cousins. -----Also, when James sold land in Jones County, MS Aug 24, 1850 (to Amos J. Spears in Ellisville, Lots 1 and 2 , Survey Range 4, pg 416) he had Hardy Parker of Perry County witness. Why would you have a cousin from another county witness a deed when you could have family from your county witness? It would make more sense that he would have asked Hardy, being from another county to witness because he was a trusted brother. -----Also, James Leander did name a son Hardy as did his probable brother Hardy III. These are the only two who continued the name Hardy for several generations. -----Jacob is always next to him in enumeration on census. I believe Jacob is cousin to his father, who I believe is Hardy Parker II who moved to Jones Co, MS about 1817. ---- Hardy III moved to Angelina Co, TX. where James ended up. The book "East Texas Historical Assoc." pg 4 states "In 1854, shortly after arriving in Angelina Co, a Mr. Jones joined with two other commissioners, Frank Hill and Hardy Parker to vote, etc." This means there was a Hardy Parker there in 1854, and Hardy the son of James Leander was only 14, he could not have been a commissioner already. Since Hardy Parker III ended up in the next county, Hardin County, he may have come with James Leander to Angelina Co., first. Hardy III does have a son, Malcom born in 1852 in Texas so Hardy III was in texas before the 1854 date. Also in the book "Ordered by the court, Angelina Co, Tx county commissioners court minutes"/L.T. Jordan, pg 160 lists Hardy Parker among other citizens; pg 188 Feb 21, 1853 Lists Hardy Parker to work the road; pg 194 Feb 23, 1853 listed on revision of Jury List; ----1820 Perry MS Fed cen (Hardy II/1 m 10-16/1 m 16-26/1 m 45^/3 females) (cousin Jacob is here also) -----1825 Perry Co, MS Tax Rolls - (Hardy II, also cousin Jacob Parker) -----1827 Perry Co, MS Tax Rolls - (Hardy II, also cousin Asa, Jacob & James Parker) -----1828 Perry Co, MS Tax Rolls - (Hardy II, also Jacob) -----1829, 1830 Perry co, MS Tax Rolls - (now has Hardy Sr & Hardy Jr. III, Jacob & James) -----1830 Perry MS fed cen - (Hardy II/1m 20-30/1m 60-70/2 female)(Jacob also here) -----1832 Jan 18, - Jones Co, MS - John Parker Jr. to John Parker Sr. Section 2, twp 6, Range 12W, 60 acres (could have inherited it with Hardy below); -----1839 Feb 2, Jones Co, MS - Hardy & wife Nancy Parker of Perry Co to Thos Lyon of Jones Co, Section 14, twp 7, Range 12W containing 39.2 acres; Signed Hardy (A.) Parker, James Parker wit. ------1833-1843 Perry MS Tax (only one Hardy from then on, must be Hardy III, Jacob is right next to him); ------1844-47 Perry MS Tax (Hardy III but no Jacob); -----1840 Perry MS fed cen (Hardy III/2 m under 5/1 m 30-40/2 female)(Jacob also) -----1850 Perry MS fed cen (Hardy III, Nancy, Hardy IV is one yr old.)(Jacob is 73); -----1852 Texas a son was born in Texas; -----1853, Feb 21 - Angelina Co, TX - "Book A, County Commissioners Court Minutes Angelina County 1846-1855"/L. Jordan pg 177 Hardy Parker & hands liable to work said road within the bounds of said precinct; pg 183 Feb. 23 he was on a Jury; -----1855, Feb 19 - Angelina Co, TX - "Book B, County Commissioners Court Minutes Angelina County 1854-1863"/L. Jordan pg 11 - Undersigned commissioners, Hardy Parker who were appointed by the legislature for the county aforesaid, do hereby notify you that suitable offices are prepared at Jonesville the county seat of Angelina county; pg 13, Feb. 20 Hardy Parker was appointed as a jury to review and mark out a road; pg 22 Feb 21 he was on a Jury; pg 42 Hardy Parker and hands subject to work on roads; -----1856, I have a copy of a letter written by Hardy Parker to his 'brother', actually brother-in-law Malcolm McAlpin, dated July 4, 1856 telling him that Hardy's wife died July 2, 1856. He states in the letter 'Your sister', therefore giving us Nancy's maiden name. They were living in Angelina County at the time, so she most likely died in that county in Texas. The original letters are owned by Jessie Stamp. ------1856, The same letter mentioned above, Hardy Parker talks about and names his 10 children, the 2 oldest are deceased. Children are: Alford & Susanna (both deceased) - Daniel - Nancy Jane - James Alexander - Mary - John - Hanor (probably Hannah) - Hardy Andrew - Malcom is the youngest, he is four year old. The fact that they named a daughter Susanna and not Susan is another reason to believe that his mother was Susanna Bowzer. If Susan Parydice had been his mother, I'm sure they would have named a daughter Susan instead of Susanna. -----1859, Nov 21 - Angelina Co, - "Book B, County Commissioners Court Minutes Angelina County 1854-1863"/L. Jordan pg 275, Hardy Parker, James Parker & Hands, Daniel Parker, Isaac Parker & others liable hands to work on the road (this Hardy could be the son of James Leander Parker because he would now be 19 yrs old, although my Hardy did not buy land in Hardin Co until Sep 1860.) -----1860 Nov 19th, Angelina Co - "Book B, County Commissioners Court Minutes Angelina County 1854-1863"/L. Jordan, pg 343- Hardy Parker, James Parker & Hands, Daniel Parker, & others liable hands to work on the road (again, this Hardy could be the son of James Leander Parker because he would now be 19 yrs old, although my Hardy bought land in Hardin Co Sep 1860, but might not have moved there until shortly thereafter,so this could be my Hardy still.) -----1860, Sep 21 - Hardin Co., TX - Deed James Williford sells to Hardy Parker 120 acres on Cypress Creek, Book F, pg 311, I have this deed; -----1860 Hardin TX fed cen Hardy III (Hardy, Nancy, Hardy IV is 11); -----1880 Hardin TX fed cen Hardy IV (Hardy, Zella, 3 child) -----1910 Hardin TX fed cen Hardy IV (Hardy A. Parker 63, Zella 53, Zella/Zellie is 14) NOTES: -----Could this Hardy Parker be buried in Guidry Cemetery in Batson, Hardin Co, TX? Someone thought Hardy IV was buried there, could be this Hardy!
