Estab a brickyard on Indian Creek around Able's place. Had a big frame house for men to live in. He owned both sides of Ridge Road all the way out. He built the brick house - the home place and gave ... 10 acres. Said he had earned it at Brickyard. Ret [Retired] to 420 Washington Ave - where Mercy or Mary Hospital is now. When he died Savillian got an additional 20 acres in the settlement. Great Grandpa Benj. Winchester held seances (sp?) at home - spiritualists came ... Wrote a synopsis of Bible. They say spirits there and Grandma Rachel got nervous and wouldn't go back. I thought a lot of them [this from Bessie].
