Sallie Cummins gave her note to Joannah ashcraft for $238.33 dated 25 Dec1860 and Joannah assigned to self 22 Apr 1861; was for payment of land intown of Knoxville, containing 35 acres including the house where AmosAshcraft died. The petition was amended 13 Feb 1864 to include JoelMoffit, the administrator of Joannah Ashcraft's estate and the heris ofJoannah Ashcraft, now deceased. Sallie C. and B.F. Cummins were livingin Illinois at the time. The only heirs of Joannah Ashcraft were:daugther, Mary A. (late Ashcraft) and her husband Alexander McCormack,daughter, Margaret (late Ashcraft) Morehead and dauther, Sarah (lateAshcraft) Race, deceased. The heirs of her deceased daughter Sarah were:Mary Ann Race married to Jacob Stoner (living in Texas), Eliza Ann Racemarried to Thoms Grayer (living in Texas), Frances Florence (living inTexas), Parthena A. Wileman (living in Ohio), Amos M. Race (living inTexas) and Albert L. Race (living in Texas.)
Since the transfer of the said note (22 Apr 1861) Joannah died, left awill, and appointed William Threlkeld executor. Mr. Threlkeld declinedthe administration and Joel Moffit was appointed administrator.
