Note: He was an elder and a deacon in the Lutheran Church for 25 years in 1880. He started his homestead in 1834. He cut a set of cabin logs eleven rounds high- the building being 18x20, in one day. A part of his land is included in a tract warrented July 15, 1784, to Robert Underwood, and called "Spring Mount." It was patented to the heirs of john Wighton, October 22, 1801. Another part was warrented to Moses Bartram July 20, 1784, and was named Liverpool. It was patented to Thomas Fisher, Samuel R. Fisher, Moses Fisher, John R. Gilpin, and Thomas Gilpin, July 25, 1806.
