Note: BENJAMIN BOUGHTON (son of Timothy and Martha Scott Boughton) was born Ridgefield, Fairfield county, Ct., March 9, 1784; vocation, farmer; married, Titicus, Fairfield county, Ct., about 1805, to Charity Dann, who was brought up on a farm near Titicus; after marriage lived near Ridgefield, and moved to Washington, Dutchess county, about 1810. They settled in the eastern part of the town, near Hibernia, where they remained until she died, Oct. 10, 1830, having been in poor health for several years before her death. Their eldest daughter, Mary, assuming the care of the family, which was large, they continued living at the homestead until she married, when the family was broken up and he went to live with his son-in-law, George Hutchings, at Hibernia, N. Y., where he died, in hope of the resurrection of the just, Oct. 23, 1856, and was buried at Washington, N. Y.
