Note: Patsy Jean Kelly, 89, of Las Vegas, passed away July 23, 2010. She was born March 29, 1921, in Heavener, Okla., to Raymond E. and Martha A. (Zook) Dawson. She moved to Las Vegas in 1934 with her parents. Her father helped build Hoover Dam and later worked at Cashman Cadillac. Patsy graduated from Las Vegas High School, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, James A. Kelly. They eloped to Kingman, Ariz., Jan. 25, 1940, where they married. Jim and Pat returned to Las Vegas the following day and started their life together. They had two sons, David James Kelly and Christopher Pat Kelly. Pat and her husband, Jim owned the Shell Gas Station that was on the Las Vegas Strip across from the Riviera Hotel. Patsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Kelly; son, David James Kelly; sister, Elizabeth "Buff"; brother-in-law, Jack Ware; sister-in-law, Betty; and brother-in-law, Gus Ciliax. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Wendy Kelly; daughter-in-law, Troy Barnett; grandchildren, Brooke Kelly, Christie Kelly, Jonathan Dixon, Sarah Dixon, Brandon Dimick and Heather Roberts; seven great-grandchildren, Hailey Ambruster, David Holady, Allyson Dixon, Zakai Oxendine, Madison and Ryleigh Dimick; nieces; nephews; and loving friends. Patsy's nephew, Carl Ciliax stated, "Aunt Pat was a very gracious woman in everything she did and will be truly missed." Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S.
