Note: Bill Levkulich of Craig died Oct. 1, 2005, at The Memorial Hospital. He was 85. Levkulich was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Akron, Ohio, the second child of George and Mary (Birovchak) Levkulich. Levkulich was raised in Superior, Wyo., where he graduated from high school in 1938, and he spent his summers in Craig. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Mary Ann Guchopulous on Dec. 22, 1955, in Reno, Nev. They made their home in Craig where Levkulich worked as a contractor helping many ranchers and sheepmen build reservoirs. He did a lot of core drilling for water wells and worked for Energy Fuels for about 25 years. Levkulich enjoyed gardening, hunting and the outdoors. He was a member of the Craig Elks Lodge, the VFW and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Levkulich, of Craig; Frank Levkulich of Craig and George Levkulich of Craig, and Pete (Joann) Levkulich of Grand Junction; sister, Mary Rose (Jack) Peregoy of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Helen, and a brother, John. Services were held Oct. 4, 2005, at Grant Mortuary with Mervin Johnson. The organist was Anne Carr and the soloist was Carol Buchanan. Selections were "Because," and "White Sport Coat." Pallbearers were Jim Brown, Gary Schnurr, Jack Peregoy, David Peregoy, Bill Dilldine, and Manolis Glimidakis. Interment was held at Craig Cemetery with military honors by officers of VFW Post No. 4265. --- Craig Daily Press, Nov. 22, 2005
