Note: John Phillip Elliott, 75 03/21/1934 ~ 10/01/2009 FALLBROOK -- John P. Elliott passed away at his daughter's residence in Temecula under the care of Heartland Hospice. John was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on March 21, 1934 to Edward and Josephine Elliott. He had been a resident of Fallbrook for 20 years. John spent 20 years as the manager of the visual/audio training center at Camp Pendleton. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and earned both the United Nations Service and National Defense medals. He retired from civil service after 20 years. John is survived by his three daughters, Barbara Kimes, Carol Rosier, Lizabeth Elliott; three sons, John Elliott Jr., Karl Elliott, Steven Elliott; sister, Rose Marie Smothers; twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 8th, at 3p.m., in the chapel of Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, 24651 Washington Ave. Murrieta, Calif. --- U-T San Diego, Oct. 8, 2009
