a. Note:   Miss Carrie M. Crippen, 82, 1291 LeForge Rd., passed away Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Hanlon Convalescent Home after a lingering illness. Miss Crippen was born Jan. 13, 1870 in Superior Township, daughter of Roger G. and Ann E. Crane, members of the early pioneer families. She was a graduate of Michigan State Normal College in music. After graduation, she taught school for years in the rural area of this country, and for two years in Kansas City, Kan. Her grandfather, Daniel Crippen, was one of the first Methodist circuit riders in the state of Michigan, and one of the early pastors of the Dixboro Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister, Lillian A., Ypsilanti; three nieces, Mrs. Russell Teall, Toledo; Mrs. Robert E. Heston, Monroe, and Mrs. George Robbe, Salt Lake City, Utah; one nephew, Ervin Dunbar, Monroe. Funeral services will be at the Moore Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Moore Funeral Home.
