a. Note:   Port Townsend resident Charles Hitchcock died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle at age 75. He was born to Ralph N. and Elizabeth (Locke) Hitchcock in Loraine Ohio. After spending his early years in Ohio and Pennsylvania, he served in the Navy from March 1946 to December 1947. Mr. Hitchcock attended Oberlin College, Georgetown University, with additional studies in Oslo, Norway. He graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in history and political science. He later lived in California and Washington. He was an avid hiker, outdoorsman and loved photography. Mr. Hitchcock is survived by his 100-year-old mother of Lewisburg, Pa.; sons Charles Sheridan of Westerville, Ohio, and Anders Hitchcock of Tucson, Ariz.; twin daughters Lisa Chichkov of Accord, N.Y., and Susan Simons of Madera, Calif., and 10 grandchildren. Services: None. He was cremated.
