State of North Carolina To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting. Know Ye, That We, for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty Shillings for every Hundred Acres hereby granted, paid into our Treasury by GILBERT EVINS have Given and Granted, and by thse Presents do Give and Grant unto the said GILBERT EVINS a Tract of Land, containing Four Hundred and Eighty one Acres, lying and being in our County of Wake On both sids of the little fork of Little Lick Creek Beginning at a pine in JAMES CONNERS Line near SPENCER WATTS Corner thence South three Hundred and Seventy poles to a black Jack thence West two Hundred and Sixty poles to a black oak thence North one Hundred and Eighty poles to a Pine thence East Forty four poles to a black Jack thence North one Hundred and forty poles to a Stake in the Center of two pines and a red Oak in the said CONNERS Line thence with the same to the First Station. as by the Plat hereunto annexed doth appear; together all Woods, Waters, Mines, Minerals, Hereditaments, and Appurtenances, to the said Land belonging or appertaining: To hold to the said GILBERT EVINS his Heirs and Assigns, for ever. Yielding and paying to us such sums of Money yearly, or otherwise, as our General Assembly from Time to Time may direct. Provided Always, That the said GILBERT EVINS shall cause this Grant to be registered in the Register's Office of our said County of Wake within Twelve Months from the Date hereof, otherwise the same shall be void and of no Effect. In Testimony whereof, we have caused our Great Seal to be hereunto affixed. Wake County, NC Deed Book UG, Pg. 14 - GILBERT EVANS to HENRY EVANS- 1807 This Indenture made this 11th day of December of the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and five by and between GILBERT EVANS of the County of Wake and the State of North Carolina of the one part, and HENRY EVANS of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth; that I the said GILBERT EVANS for and in consideration of the natural love, and affection which I bear to my son HENRY EVANS have by these presents given and granted unto my said son HENRY EVANS one certain tract and parcel of Land, containing by Estimation one Hundred acres and Bounded as follows (to witt) beginning at a hickory in WILLIAM EVANS' line runing thence South two hundred poles to a black Jack, near a drain, thence East Eighty poles to a turkey oak, near the So. fork of little lick Creek thence, North two hundred poles to a small Hickory in WILLIAM EVANS line thence West along said line to the Beginning, to have and to hold, the above granted land and premises with all and singular the rights profits and priveledges with the heriditaments and appurtenances thereto in any wise appertaining or belonging, unto him the said HENRY EVANS, his heirs or assigns forever, and he the said GILBERT EVANS does agree that he will forever warrant and defend, the above granted land and premises unto him the said HENRY EVANS his heirs or assigns forever, to his or their only proper use and behoof from the lawful claim challenge or demand of all persons whatsoever. This Indenture made the twenty first day of February and in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred & Seven between JOSEPH LUMBLEY of Wake County and State of North Carolina of the one part and GILBERT EVANS, of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth; that the said JOSEPH LUMBLEY for & in consideration of the Sum of One hundred pounds Specie, to him in hand paid by the said GILBERT EVANS, before the sealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt hereof, is hereby acknowledged hath granted Bargained & by these presents doth bargain sell & convey and confirm, unto the said GILBERT EVANS, one certain tract or parcel of land, and plantation situate lying and being in the County of Wake, on the waters of the two Lick Creeks. Beginning at a Black Jack in said EVANS’ line, then South one hundred and thirty five poles to a stake in sd EVANS’ line, thence East one hundred and twenty five poles to a Stake, thence North one hundred and thirty five poles to Hickory Shrub in sd G. EVANS’ line; thence West One hundred and twenty five poles, to the first station, containing by estimation One hundred acres of land, and be the same more or less with all Houses, orchards, woods and underwoods and all other appurtenances whatsoever, thereunto belonging to the sd Land and premises, unto the said GILBERT EVANS his heirs & assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said GILBERT EVANS & his heirs forever free & clear of & from, all former or other Deeds Gifts Grants, Bargains Sales Dowries Judgments, Executions or any other incumbrances whatsoever, and lastly the said JOSEPH LUMBLEY doth for himself his heirs and Promise and agree to and with the said GILBERT EVANS, that he will the rights titles and Property of the sd. This Indenture made this Twenty Sixth day of February and in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred & Seventeen Between GILBERT EVANS of the the County of Wake and State of North Carolina in the one part, and ENOCH EVANS of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Twenty five dollars, & a quarter to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid & therefore doth acquit and discharge, him the said ENOCH EVANS and his heirs forever, have bargained and sold by these presents doth Bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said ENOCH EVANS, & his heirs forever. One certain tract or parcel of land, lying and being in the County of Wake, and on the waters of little lick Creek, containing twenty seven and a half acres be the same more or less and bound as follows. KENNON EVANS for & in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and ten dollars, to them in hand paid by the said GEORGE BRASFIELD the receipt whereof they have hereby acknowledged and by these presents have hereby acknowledged, and by them presents have Bargained Sold Enscoffed and confirmed unto him the said GEORGE BRASFIELD his heirs or assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Wake, and bounded as follows Beginning at a small hickory in the said GEORGE BRASFIELD line, thence running East, one hundred and six poles, to a small Hickory, then South fifty five poles to a Stake, then East Seventy three poles to a stake, then South thirty four poles to a hickory, then West, one hundred and Seventy nine poles to a small black Jack on the road, then North to the Beginning, containing Seventy five acres be the same more or less with all and singular the Rights profits and priviledges with the appurtenances and hereditaments thereto in any wise appertaining or belonging, and they the said GILBERT and WM. Witnesseth that I the said GILBERT EVANS for and in consideration for the Sum of One hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said EWELL WATTS, the receipt whereof I have hereby acknowledged and as these presents have bargained Sold Enscoffed and confirmed to him the said EWELL WATTS his heirs & assigns forever. One certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County & State aforesaid on the waters of little lick Creek. Beginning at a red oak JESSE GEORGE’ corner thence 55 poles to a stake then West 73 poles to a stake crossing the Creek then North 55 poles to a small Hickory then East 73 poles crossing the Mill pond to the Beginning. Containing by estimation twenty five acres, be the same more or less with all the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any ways, appertaining unto the said EWELL WATTS his heirs & assigns forever together with all the Rights which I or my heirs may have had to land or lands and premises to the only use and behoof of him the said EWELL WATTS his heirs and assigns forever and I the sd GILBERT EVANS, will hereby warrant and defend the sd tract or parcel of land from all persons and shall lay any claim Right or title to the said land & premises to the said EWELL WATTS his heirs & assigns forever. EVANS corner, in BRASFIELD line thence East Sixty three and a fourth poles, to a post oak, thence North Sixty three and a fourth poles to a stake and thence South to the first Station Estimated to be Twenty five acres, more or less.
