a. Note:   Emigrated overland to Canada in a covered wagon train in July, 1900[?]. Brought a herd of dairy cows and many horses. Settled first in Lethbridge, then Raymond, and Purple Springs, Alberta. He received his High School diploma by correspondence. He also received diplomas as a veterinarian, state(sic) [real estate?] broker, and lawyer.
