a. Note:   RUBEN GREGORY. Seventh son of Joseph and Ann was born in the United States on August 27, 1829, just after arrival of the family. Exact date and place of birth have not been located and there is no direct evidence that he moved to Ida with his parents although, this may be inferred from the 1840 Michigan Federal Census. He is not listed as living with any member of the family in 1850, when he would have been about 21 years of age. He is reported to have married Marion Drummond and to have lived in Brunswick, Maryland . He evidently left the family and went elsewhere at a relatively early age.
