Note: In the 1881 census both were listed (aged 71 & 53 respectively). William was described as a farm labourer. They lived in a small cottage (less than five-rooms) which was probably attached to a farm run by a family called Mitchell who originally came from Wistow just a few miles away.
Both were also listed in the 1891 census and, age apart, their circumstances appear the same.
A William Milner died in Selby in 1898 aged 84 years old - slight age discrepancy with above - would have been 88 ?
