West, copyist Note: The reference to desertion is a question for us. Did he really desert or does this mean something else?
The identity of Tildy Ann, Lunar's first wife is still a matter of speculation for us. Essie Shelton Brown, daughter of George Shelton, Lunar's oldest son wrote that she was a cousin. One of the possibilities is the daughter of John Shelton and Sara Jane Howard. Her name was Tabitha Ann, she was born in 1845 in Lauderdale Co., Alabama.
