Former Syracuse, Ind. resident Robert, 82, 11324 Bobwhite Lane, St. Marys, died at 10:30 p.m., at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. He was born to Ralph and Sylvia Hays Jordan. On June 10, 1945, he married Betty Place, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Gregory (Joyce), Phoenix, Ariz.; Linda Jordan Ruane, St. Marys, and Marsha (Dave) Sandkuhl, Phoenix; and seven grandchildren. He was retired from Minster Machine Company, where he was an electrical engineer and litigator. He founded the Industrial Control Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was a 1941 graduate of Ohio State University School of Electrical Engineering and did graduate study at University of Cincinnati. He was a member of the National Safety Council, Professional Engineer's Society, OSU Alumni Association and Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys. He also was a shortwave radio operator. Services were at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Ed Groff officiating.
