Notes
a. Note:   Born in Guysborough, Nova Scotia. Married his 1st cousin. Another record says he died on January 29 1945. Moved to Alberta with his wife, family and father (Abner Hart) in the fall of 1906 with a carload of settlers effects and a few cattle. Settled near Carbon Alberta in the spring of 1907. Bligh was not much of a farmer, but worked hard for the formation of the United farmers of Alberta, the Wheat Pool and the United Grain Growers. Bligh was Superintendent of the Sunday School, Secretary-Treasurer of the School, and also Chairman of the Annual Meeting of the Municipal District for much of his life in Alberta. Bligh, wife Alice, son Johnston and daughter Mary returned to Nova Scotia for a visit in 1939, then heard that their crop had been hailed out for the fifth time in six years, so they sold out and stayed in Nova Scotia. Bligh and wife Alice both died in Nova Scotia, but Johnson and Mary returned to Alberta in 1954.
