Note: Born in Buysborough, Nova Scotia. He moved to Halifax and operated a well known resturaunt knows as The Green Lantern Restaurant Ltd. Records at the Halifax Funeral Home state: It is hard to realize in these days of inflation that when we met in the Green Lantern Restaurant for a full course luncheon, it only cost us 50 and it was a good lunch. Then when our genial host, Rotarian Will Hart, found it necessary to increase it to 60 there was some comment. Below is a clipping found on the web. Evil villains may fear the power of the Green Lanterns light, but apparently bureaucrats don’t. The historic Green Lantern Building at 1585 Barrington Street is stuck in red tape limbo. Originally built in 1896, the municipal heritage property was designed by William Tuft Whiteway in the Chicago style and constructed for Gordon & Keith who ran a furniture and piano business, says city heritage planner Bill Plaskett. It got its colourful name from the Green Lantern Restaurant that occupied the ground-level space (where the Pogue Fado currently operates) from the 1920s to the 1960s.
