a. Note:   John was born and brought up in Halifax and was usually known as Victor Hart. He enlisted in the army on June 3, 1940 and served in Canada, England and North Western Europe. After the war he joined the RCASC Militia and served until 1963. He was employed in the family business, the Green Lantern Restaurant Ltd., and in the Real Estate business, retiring at age 65. He served with the Halifax Co. Centre, TB league for many years until it was taken over by the Lung Association. He was also a member of RA Park for many years. His church life at Bethany United, Halifax was an important part of his life, and he enjoyed giving assistance to others. When he died, visitation was at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, and the funeral service was at Bethany United Church on May 14.
