Note: The following excerpt is copied from a study done by C. St. C. Staynor of Halifax, Nova Scotia in December 1950.
He was many years secretary and manager of the Starr Manufacturing Co. of Dartmouth, retiring after 53 years service on July 31, 1925. The Halifax direactories of 1872-3 and 1874-5 show him as a bookkeeper living at 25 Lower Water Street in Halifax. The directory of 1876-7 show him as a bookkeeper living at Bilby cor Kempt Road, and in 1879-80 he was living at 30 Birmingham in Halifax. The 1886-7 directory shows him as Secretary, Star Manufg Co living at 108 Moris Street
