a. Note:   The following excerpt is copied word for word from a study done by C. St. C. Staynor of Halifax, Nova Scotia in December 1950.
  Catherine L. Stayner was left a widow with a young family of one son & 4 daughters: & about one thousand pounds, with which she opened a hat and bonnet manufactory in Granville St. in 1820. She died in her 82nd year (Aug. 21, 1865) and her funeral was held from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Goudge, Bishop St. Buried in the Adams lot in Camp Hill Cemetry.
