a. Note:   In 1881 Jesse was living with his father, and is listed in the census as being a drapers assistant. He signed up in the army in 1882, and he married in 1885. In the 1891 census he is married and living In Colchester, England. Later on he spent several years in India where 3 of his children were born, returned to England for a short time, then went to Canada with all his children except the eldest, Arthur Charles who stayed in England.
