Note: Per Clayton Bradeen: Divorced 7/19/1945 and remarried 7/5/ 1947. After going to college he moved to Brattleboro, Vermont and taught in the Brattleboro Business Institute for three years. Then worked about 20 years as the accountant for the Estey Organ Company. Then in 1956 went to work for the First Vermont Bank and Trust Company as an Accountant. Retired on October 1, 1976 as Assistant Vice President and Chief Accountant. Moved to Brooksville, Florida in 1979. Graduated from Old Town High School in June 1929. Attended Bay Path Institute in Springfield, Mass. graduating in 1931 from the two year Commercial Course and in 1932 from the Third year course. Training was to be Teacher of Commercial Subjects or as an accountant. Per the Springfield Directory, boarding at the Elliot Shaw residence (run by Widow Annie M Shaw) at 130 Firglade Ave in Springfield but not listed in 1930 census altho census taken April 8 while school would have still been in session. Waited on tables at the Forest Park Inn at 46 Forest Park Ave, Springfield, MA to help pay. Upon graduation, worked for my sister in Danforth on the farm because no teaching jobs available. Moved to Old Town in December 1933 to work for the Penobscot Purchasing Company doing typing and payroll work. September 1, 1934 started teaching at the Brattleboro Business Institute (Affiliate of Bay Path). September 1, 1937 began work as Bookkeeper for the Estey Organ Company in Brattleboro, Vermont doing accounting and purchasing. Left Estey's in October 1956.* In December of 1956 began working for the First Vermont Bank and Trust Co. as bookkeeper, purchasing and accounting. Retired on September 30, 1976. Died at Tangerine Cove Assisted Living in Brooksville, FL at 95 1/2 years of age. *Per Ethan Bradeen. Move from Estey Organ Company was not normal. As head accountant for the firm, he was told to destroy some documents (which he did not). When the owners were brought up on charges of mail fraud, those documents help convict the owners. Mr. Bradeen was born in Old Town, Maine and moved to the area 28 years ago from Vermont. Mr. Bradeen was an accountant, also worked for Estey Organ Corp. for over 20 years, enjoyed carpentry and crafts, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brooksville. Survivors include 3 sons, Harold, Ethan, and Eugene; 2 daughters, Barbara Taylor and Sharon Herman; 8 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
