Ellis, Jr. was killed in an auto accident when four years old. Ellis worked in the woods for the Penobscot Purchasing Co. for a short time then worked for the Railway Express Agency in Bar Harbor, Waterville, and Rumford, Maine. Ellis served in the European theater of World War II.
Per Ethan Bradeen:
I remember visiting their house in Rumford. Rumford always stunk so from the paper mills. Aunt Louisa use to make and sell candy from her home.
